Crazy Duck hostel attacks Saint-Petersburg!
The second hostel named Crazy Duck was opened in Saint-Petersburg. It is located in Grivtsova Pereulok. Besides that, till the end of this year one more hostel of the same net will be opened on Vasilievsky Island.
The hostel is situated in the 3-stored building, which total area is 600 square meters (Pereulok Grivtsova 6). The building is rented by the Trinity company, an operator of Crazy Duck hostel. The hostel can accommodate 90 persons. According to Colliers Int (the consultant of the project) estimates, it costs about 1 million Russian rubles to open the hostel. A part of the fund was spent on the building reconstruction, since it was built at the end of the XVIII century. It will take a year to cover the expenditure.
The first Crazy Duck hostel ( Trinity’s brand) has been going for one year and a half. It is located in the center of the city (Moskovsky prospect). According to Alexander Kozlov’s (Trinity’s main manager) statement, in spite of crises the fillability of the hostel is still on the level of 80-85%. The company’s plan is to open a new hostel on Vasilievsky Island in 2009; its total area will be 1200 square meters. And moreover, the company plans to open two more hostels in 2010.
Metrotour Hostel’s administration reported that in spite of a low season the hostel, which is meant for 110 persons, is booked up and a part of rooms are booked till spring.
It is noticeable that this summer Vladimir Svin’in, the head of develop company Ohta Group, has opened Graffiti Hostel. The hostel is meant for 156 beds. In perspective, when the businessman will find money, he will build an elite house on the place where the hostel is located. But Svin’in says that the cover of expenditure speed is so impressive that he has decided not to give up this business and he is ready to find a new place for the hostel.
